How do you stop COVID restrictions from cancelling Christmas?
Christmas isn’t Christmas without Santa and during covid, many shopping centres were forced to cancel their annual in-store Santa Photo experience. AMP shopping centres wanted to create a digital experience that would capture the magic of meeting Santa in person and keep the centre front of mind during the holiday shopping season.
Parents could enter their children's information on a secure website to receive a personalized video message from Santa, addressing them by name and mentioning details like their age, school year, siblings and pets creating a sense of magic and believability. Santa gave extra reassurance to all children letting them know that they were definitely on the ‘nice’ list and that he knew the exact gift they had requested for Christmas.
The campaign generated over 16,000 visitors, resulting in 6,000 unique videos watched over 24,000 times. Merry Christmas indeed!
