Foundation for National Parks & Wildlife

How do you encapsulate the ethos of an organisation into a single brandmark?

For over 50 years The Foundation for National Parks & Wildlife has worked to ‘save endangered species and grow national parks’. However their previous logo lacked the purpose and professionalism of an organisation that partners with government, corporate Australia and other NGOs as well as fundraising to ensure that Australia’s wildlife and wilderness is preserved for future generations.

I collaborated with graphic designer YSKE to create a logo which reflected the purpose and personality of the foundation.

Building futures together

The new logo centers around the concept of “building futures together”, an idea that encapsulates the foundation’s mission statement of “growing parks and saving species“. This is visualised through the new symbol where the Koala, one of the many species saved by FNPW, is planting a young sapling into the ground.

This kind and helpful Koala with its soft and round form represents the foundation’s mission to ‘grow parks’ but can also symbolise anyone who is helping to make a difference for our future.

The logo aims to connect with the broadest audience possible through its new inviting symbol that welcomes diverse groups ranging from government bodies to supportive individuals.
